Students, to make your checkout easier please check the following:

1.     Be sure all your fees are paid.

2.     We have posted a new yearbook list across from the main office.  Please make sure your name is on it prior to check out if you think you have purchased one.

3.     All elevator keys need to be turned in to the main office or a $15.00 charge will be put on your fees.  Please turn them in as soon as possible!

4.     Be sure all Media fines, lunch money and art fees are paid!

Attention all seniors: The Logan City School District Foundation is sponsoring an essay contest to honor superior elementary, middle, and high school teachers at Candlelight. All seniors are invited to write an essay describing their most influential Logan school district teacher. Three winners will be chosen to present an award to their chosen teacher at Candlelight. All entries need to be submitted to Mrs. Stallings by Wednesday, May 23rd. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Stallings in the English building.

Come join the grizz kids for their last activity of the year! We will be potting flowers & playing games outside.

SENIORS:  USU Charter Credit Union will be awarding six $500 scholarships. For instructions and applications, go to usuccu.org@scholarship.  Deadline date is June 30, 2012.  This scholarship can be applied towards any institution of higher learning.

Senior Class: Now is the time to nominate royalty for Senior Ball. We will have a box in the front office where you can submit nominations. Next week will be final voting online, so be sure to get your nominations in.

State Farm Insurance & Youth discovery Inc. is sponsoring the 26 second campaign fun run/walk on May 19^th at 9:00 a.m. USU Fieldhouse. If you are interested please pick up an application in the student center.

Students, are you looking for something fun to do this summer?  Look no further!  Sign up now for some great summer activities with the USTAR Summer Academy!  Earn credit while you explore Cache Valley; create awesome art projects, write a computer APP, and even more.  Look for the poster by the office.  Descriptions and enrollment are online with links on both the school and district web pages.  If you need help signing up, see Mrs. Smart.

ALL Libraries books are due by Thursday, May 16^th.

Seniors:  Did you earn a scholar medallion?  If you think you did, check the list that is posted in the hallway across from the office, and CONGRATULATIONS!  If there are any errors, go talk to Mrs. Smart.  Medallions will be delivered after Tuesday, May 22.  Please wear the medallions at Candle Light and Graduation. 

If you have an elevator key and are done with it, please turn it into the front office ASAP to avoid paying a 15.00 fee.

The graduation list across from the main office has been updated. SENIORS!! Please check it again; if your name is not on it, you are not set to graduate, see your counselor ASAP!

It’s hard to believe but the end of the school year is approaching quickly. There are many students with an outstanding lunch debt. ALL DEBTS, including students with free lunch with a debt, must be paid before the end of the school year… NO EXCEPTIONS!!! Where do you stand regarding your lunch account? You may always check your lunch balance on the lunch computer when purchasing a lunch. Avoid delays during check out and a delay in receiving your yearbook…… be smart…….don’t’ procrastinate…….pay off your lunch debt sooner rather than later.

Students: There will be 2 sessions of Summer Driver's Ed- the first session starts May 31 and runs through June 15, the second session starts June 18 and runs through June 29. Both sessions will be from 8-11 am. Cost is $125, sign up in the Counseling Center.

For students interested in attending Dixie State University, I have Housing Scholarships available at Red Rock Ridge Student Community Housing in the amount of $2878.  This will pay for housing for the academic year.  If you are interested, pick up an application in the Student Center.  The deadline to apply for this scholarship is July l, 2012.
