Beginning Wed,
May 22 you will not receive a lunch ..... unless it is paid.
No one will be allowed to charge meals to their lunch accounts
beginning Wed., May 22. Meals WILL be taken away if there isn't
enough money either on your account or in your hand to cover the cost of the
meal AND any debt you may have. There are no exceptions!!!!!!!
EVERYONE IS ACCOUNTABLE TO PAY THEIR DEBTS! If you have
any questions concerning your lunch account please contact the cafeteria as
soon as possible.
Any
students interested in serving as an Appointed Officer next year please see
Mrs. Cottle by this Wednesday. Come get
involved next year in student government!
Bike
to work week continues on for one more week. So keep on biking! Don’t forget.
Everybody who bikes or skateboards to school needs to
go to Semadeni’s room to get a ticket. At the end of
the week, we’ll trade the tickets for doughnuts and put the other in a raffle to
prizes! Let’s get biking.
Anyone who wishing to serve on next year's drama
council, please pick up an application form from Mrs. Mecham
in room 316 before Wednesday May 15.
Voting will take place on Wednesday and Thursday and next year's officers
will be announced at the banquet on Thursday.
The Cache Valley for Hope Cancer Foundation
has re-opened their application for a scholarship program to give young cancer
survivors the opportunity to pursue their post-secondary education from an
accredited university, community college or vocational technical school. The
scholarship is $2,500, and recipients can apply multiple years for a possible
lifetime award of $10,000. If you know of a cancer survivor who will be
going to further their education after high school or is already enrolled
in a school, please have them contact Jeanie in the Student Center for
applications. Application deadline is June 30, 2013.
Beach Week is almost here! Time to get your team together for the
Volleyball Tournament at lunch! Teams are 6 players with 5 on the court
at a time. Sign-ups will be this Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday during
both lunches in the lobby. Get your team together and choose a name and
get ready to play! Finals between the 1st lunch winners and 2nd lunch
winners will be held during the Beach Dance on the football field under the
lights!
"Senior Lagoon Day is fast approaching
and will be on Friday May 24th. Ticket Price is $28.00. Sign-ups will be
today through next Tuesday in the main office."
Come support the Grizz Kids club by
participating in the LHS GRIZZ KIDS FUN RUN~WALK~ROLL on Saturday, May 18th.
Registration starts at 8:00 AM directly in front of the main building here at
LHS. 5K starts at 9:00 AM and 1 Mile starts at 10:00 AM. Cost to
participate is $5. All proceeds will go directly to the Grizz Kids club to fund our monthly activities. Great
raffle prizes will be given out. Everyone who registers is eligible to win
prizes. Contact Faculty Advisor, Tashina
Meaker (W100) for early registration or if you have questions. Come
get some exercise and support our amazing club!!!
SENIORS: Applications for the "Beloved
Community Scholarship" are available in the Student Center. The $800
Scholarship is available to graduating seniors who belong to a racial minority
group. Applicants will be selected based on service projects/programs and level
of involvement in those programs. Those awarded must be attending USU in the
fall of 2013. Application deadline is May 15, 2013.
There
will be a tentative Driver's Ed class in May, if it does not fill up,
it will be canceled. The dates are May 13-24 after school from 2:45-5:45.
Please pay Mrs. Brown in the main office then bring your receipt to Mrs. Olsen
in the Counseling Office.
Summer
Driver's Ed classes will be June 17th to the 28th, with a MORNING SESSION from 8 am to 11 am. Please pay Mrs. Brown in the main
office then bring your receipt to Mrs. Olsen in the Counseling Office.
NO PARKING in the reserved seminary parking stalls; violators will be
ticketed by Logan City. There is also no parking in the back of school on
the North side of the football field. Violators will be ticketed there as
well.
Students if you have an elevator key and are done
with it, please turn it into the main office. If you don’t turn your elevator
key back in there will be a $25.00 fee added to your school fees.
The BATC Summer
Programs run June 10th through July 26th and are offered to juniors and
seniors. Classes are from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Registration begins May 6th. You will need your student body card to
register. "NO TUITION." A list of classes being offered is
in the Student Center.

The Alliance for Unity is
pleased to announce that its Unity Awards will again be available. The Alliance will provide up to 20
Scholarships of $2,000 each. Family
income must qualify for free or reduced lunch and a GPA of 2.5. Applications are in the Student Center. |
