FIRE SPRINKLER ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
Criteria: For
high school seniors who plan to further their education at a
college/university or certified trade school. Students read an essay
and answer questions. For each correct answer they receive one
entry in the drawing, up to 10 entries.

Criteria:

Criteria: The
Horatio Alger Association seeks to assist students who have
demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength
of character, financial need, a good academic record, and a desire to
contribute to society. Must have an adjusted gross income of
$50,00 or less per family. Minimum GPA 2.0. Must include one
letter of support from an adult who understands your adversity and can
describe the unique circumstances in your life.

AWARD
Criteria:
Activities and leadership qualities, top 20% of graduating
class. One student from LHS can be nominated to compete for this
scholarship, please let your counselor know if you wish to be
considered. Award is funded by Herff Jones, Inc. and is
administered by NASSP. Essay required.
Amount:
One hundred fifty scholarships of $1,000.

PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF COMMUNITY AWARDS
Criteria:

Criteria:
Sign up for the College Steps program which entitles the student

CENTENNIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR EARLY GRADUATION CERTIFICATE
Criteria:
A partial scholarship program for high school students who graduate
early from high school and who enroll within one calendar
year in an eligible Utah post-secondary institution. Must enroll

This scholarship program is for African American students who excel

INTEL SCIENCE TALENT SEARCH
Criteria:
Extremely competitive scholarships for students with excellent
background in scientific research/projects. Primary
emphasis is placed on a written report of an independent
Science/Mathematics/Engineering research report.
Amount: First
place through tenth place $10,000 to $20,000, thirty finalists
$5,000 each.
Three hundred
semi-finalists get $1,000 plus their school gets $1,000. Finalist
compete for the top prize, a $100,000 scholarship.

VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS “VOICE OF
DEMOCRACY” SCHOLARSHIP
Criteria:
Children or grandchildren of U.S. military veterans - including those

Criteria:
For low income, minority students. Must have a cumulative GPA of
3.3 and enroll in a full-time accredited college during the 2010 school

activities or other activities that reflect leadership abilities.
Must be nominated by LHS.
Amount:
Winners will receive funds for the cost of tuition, fees, books, and
living expense in an amount to be calculated by the Gates Millennium
Scholars based on financial need.

Criteria:
