- Q: "What is a semester and how does it work?"
A: A semester is a 90-day block of time. There are 2 full
semesters during the school year. Each semester is divided into two
45-day segments or terms.
- Q: "How may classes are there a day? And how long do classes
last?"
A: There are 7 classes a day, each is 50 minutes in length.
- Q: "How long is lunch? And do different students have
different lunch periods?"
A: Lunch is 30 minutes long. And yes, there are two
different lunch periods. Your lunch is determined by your 5th hour
teacher's lunch assignment.
- Q: "How will I know what my classes are?"
A: In August, just before school starts you can pick up your
schedule in the Main Office. If you have any questions or concerns
about your schedule, please contact the counseling office immediately.
Keep in mind all your classes for the whole year are listed on your
schedule.
- Q: "And how will I find my classes?"
A: A few days before school starts all freshman are asked to
attend a Freshman orientation. During this orientation you will take a
tour of the school and locate all your classes.
- Q: "How do I get a locker?"
A: Lockers will be given out at the Freshman orientation.
- Q: "How many credits do I need to graduate?"
A: Logan School requires credit to graduate. It is
possible to earn one-half credit per class in each semester. Therefore
you may earn 7 credits each school year.
- Q: "How do I learn about extracurricular activities: sport and
club?"
A: There is a listing of sports and clubs in this booklet.
Students need to listen to daily announcements in order to be aware
each of the activities at LHS. You may also want to contact the teacher
or coach in charge of the activity or sport you would like to know more
about.
- Q: "When do the clubs have meetings? When are practices for
school teams and sports?"
A: All extracurricular activities (clubs and sports) are
scheduled before and after the regular five period day.
- Q: "What time does school get over?"
A: School starts at 7:40, and it gets over at 2:35.
