Algebra 2

Classroom Information:

Tutoring:  Mrs. Smart is available 1/2 hour before and after school.  There is also tutoring available in the media center before and after school each day, except Friday afternoons.

Graphing Calculators:  A classroom set of graphing calculators is available to use during class time, but cannot be taken home.  Students will want to have their own inexpensive scientific (not graphing) calculator for their homework.

Classroom rules:

YES: pencils, pens, paper, textbooks, homework, calculators, water bottles

NO:   toys, distractions, food, drinks (except water), cell phones, pagers, headphones or other electronic devices

ð     The school electronics policy will be rigorously followed.

ð     Students who do not respect property (calculators, school equipment, the property of others) will be required to write a letter of apology and compensate for any damage.  If there is a second offence the student and a parent will be required to meet with the Dean of Students.

Homework: There is homework assigned EVERY DAY = 10 points each assignment.  The first day after homework is assigned students may ask questions and get help.  The second day after it is assigned the homework will be graded.  For example, a Monday homework assignment will not be graded until Wednesday.

ð     Homework will be handed in every day.

ð     No late homework will be accepted after the test for that unit.

ð     Students are expected to be productive during class time. “I will do it at home” is not acceptable.

Homework tips

Test and Homework points add together to make the total possible points.

School attendance and dress code policies will be joyfully followed in this class.  These policies are in place to assist in a positive learning environment in our classroom.

Missed tests:  students will be expected to make-up tests on their own time outside of class.  Make-up tests may be taken by arrangement before or after school in either the classroom or in the media center.
